This is a fantastic find, if we do say so! It is a receipt box from a cash register, made by National. It has a marvelous metal top with a large slot in it. After the tickets were wrung up, they'd be put into this locked box. And the really good news is, the key is included. It has a metal top with a rather 'hammered' texture and wonderful detailing, scrolls and flowers and such. The front reads "National" and has a pattern as does one of the other sides. The other two sides have glass. Do note that t is a piece missing from one of the glass sides. We were not sure how to fix it and rather than miss it up, left it 'as we found it.' It measures approx. 6-1/4" tall and a bit under 7" square. Overall, very nice condition! This is a wonderful companion piece to those old cash registers, or to display with collectibles from a 'general store.' W will you find another one?
