Huge Sale from Multiple Estates...

Offering this lovely vintage basket inventory #4112 listed as Alaskan Gut Basket Red

This attractive Basket is from Alaska and most likely hand woven by an Alaskan Native. This baskets weave is in a deeper golden color than the other Alaskan Native basket thatI have up for auction, so it appears be older. T are classic geometric designs in red around the lid and the body of the basket.

The only information that I have on this basket is that t is a hand written note inside that says, "4112 Alaska w/ Seal Gut".

The approximate basket measurements are 7" diameter (at widest part) x 6-1/2" high with lid and 4-1/4" high without lid.

The condition is very good with the exception of some deterioration to the edge of the base on one side. This could have been done by some critter gnawing at it.

I don't know the age except that it was stored in my father's storage building since 1983.

This basket comes to you from my fathers estate.

In addition to having interest in the restaurant business, he was passionate about art and antiques. My father had a huge collection and never threw anything away. My late Grandmother, widow of a Swedish Ambassador, was a Russian Immigrant who lived in China, the Philippine Islands and then Sweden. After marrying her well-to-do husband, they traveled the world and Grandmother shopped to no end sparing no expense.

God bless them all and may they rest in peace.

Everything must go. Moving out of state this summer and don't plan to take much with me. Items that do not sell, will go to a local consignment store for sale.
