Old 1940's -1950's Native American Handmade Coin Silver Cuff Bracelet With Single Turquosie This wonderful early Native American Navajo rolled, hammered and stamped with one large turquoise. This is a fabulous example of an early tourist piece because it is not what you typically expect. It is a great representation of the Navajo jewelry that attracted tourists in the first place. Handcrafted by a Navajo the Smith created a tourist piece that actually resembled what they made for themselves, a very wide cuff at 1 1/2" wide, with bits of the traditions used in Navajo jewelry. This fantastic bracelet is made from rolled sheet silver. Take a look at the photographs. You will notice the modest chisel treatment on the terminals and the simple twisted wire. This is a lighter weight and simple design so it is easy to wear. It weighs 35 grams. The bracelet is unmarked of course however when the silver was tested with acid it showed 90% or 900 silver. This great wide cuff measures 1 1/5" wide with an inside circumference of 5 3/4" plus 1 1/4" opening. The beautiful deep green turquoise stone measures 1" by 3/4" and is just slightly loose in the bezel but by no means falling out. The bracelet is in excellent condition. T are no breaks, crack in either the stone or the silver. T is some wear that is normal given that it is almost 100 years
