I just took on a fairly large -- but exciting undertaking. Over the next couple of weeks I will be selling a collection of 50 - 60 Native American Indian vintage/antique items for an elderly gentleman. This individual has collected broadly and well, and has decided to part with his Indian collection at this time. The final two photos show you just some of the items that will be auctioned. He has collected throughout the country for 40+ years, and has some very fine pieces -- in condition, quality and diversity. I queried him to gather as much information as I could on each item. I'm not an expert in Native American items, though I've done some research on his. I'll only be able to list so many auctions at a time, so please don't email me with requests concerning pieces that don't relate to this particular auction. All items will be listed, and -- in fairness to all browsers/bidders -- all auctions will run the full 7 days.

I will start all the auctions at $9.99 with NO RESERVE , just as I always have. I only ask that you consider fair market value when bidding. My client can use the funds, and it's a bit difficult for him to part with this particular collection. I ALWAYS welcome input on these items -- I want to the best I can for my client. People have been EXTREMELY helpful thus far -- and I love it when folks are willing to share their knowledge.

This auction is for a really graphically appealing piece. It's a war club with a stone with a stone head, a wood haft wrapped in rawhide, and at the end t are strands of leather, 4 tin 'cones' which have raised letters reading 'POW WOW' (they serve as noise makers when the club is shaken), and best of all 2 beaded fetishes. The fetishes are wonderful -- my guess is that the one shaped like an animal might be a turtle -- the small yellow beads have a great inset of the American flag -- this one measures approx. 2 1/2" long. The other is in the shape of a cross (without the longer base), and has small semi clear, green, black and kind of clear rose colored beads. The bottoms of both fetishes show the tanned hide -- they are clearly hand-sewn. The entire piece is in wonderful condition -- a couple of tassles missing, and the metal cones have a minor amount of rust -- but really just enough for a great patina!

The entire club measures 21" long, and with the rawhide tassles, fetishes and metal cones, it's about 26" long. The stone head measures approx. 3" high, and 5" wide. I just don't have enough information to tell you the tribe or the exact age. Maybe that's w some of you folks can help me out. This might be a ceremonial/dance piece, and various components (fetishes, cones, etc.) might have been brought together at different times. Please carefully view the many photos I've given you.

This piece will be shipped via DHL, thus the very reasonable shipping quote. DHL also covers the insurance for the first $100 of value, and after that it is only .70 cents per additional increments of $100.
