You are bidding on an old Navajo rug that was woven in the 1950's. The rug measures 63 and 1/2 long by 34 inches wide. The design consists of a single terraced heather tan lozenge which is outlined in dark brown in center against a cream field. The center design is flanked by two candy stripe bands in a heather dark brown and red pattern. T is a red and faded purple interlocking brorder around the rug. Please note that t is damage to this rug. T is a hole at the top of one ed of the center design and another on the side of the other end, again located in the center design. Please see the pictures. T is also damage to the middle on one of the long side edges. Again, please refer to the pictures. This rug is part of a family estate. The rug was used by the household it came from but it was very well cared for. It has been in storage for awhile (the home w it has been stored is both pet and smoke free.) and has not been cleaned in that time. It is not known when it was cleaned last. The buyer will likely want to have it cleaned and repaired by a professional as it does have a somewhat musty smell that old textiles often have and is in need of some repair. The colors, however, are still bold and true. This is a beautiful rug and would be a gorgeous addition to any collection of vintage Navajo textiles. We are selling the rug because read more
