This vintage, oriental music jewerly box is in relatively good condition for its' age except for a few minor wear and tear in areas, edges of front drawers, tiny dings and t and worn off area on one side in the far back edge of box. (see picture) None distract from it's beauty though. It measures 14" in length and 6 1/2 " in width. I believe this is high gloss black lacquer with mother of pearl i? inserts on top. It has a mirror with giesha girl , flowers and a house in the background. Red velvet like lining in good shape yet, no tears or wearing.. Coloring is bright yet both inside and out. Appears a key went to it at one time, but I don't have.Could probably have one made though. I don't see anything loose on it. Turn key is on the bottom for playing the music. It has two drawers on each side, 4 in center of box. One of the inside compartments lift out w the music hardware is underneathe. It plays oriental music when opened, but I have no idea of the name of the song. Probably could use alittle oil maybe?, doesn't stick, but you can hear the wheels turning alittle when the music is playing and probably just from not being played in awhile or maybe came this way, ??. I guess I would just play it more as I have had it stored for years to see if helps any. May just be all it needs as I never noticed it before. It has 2 covers for the inside middle inserts with little fringes on them. I thought t were three, but maybe not and if I should come across later, would be happy to send to buyer, keeping their address to send, at no additional charge. I have alot of antiques/collectibles I will be selling on Ebay and if another cover, would be in some of these other boxes I haven't sorted through yet. Do watch and see my other items if interested in collectibles of all sorts. I don't know what else to tell you about it so if I have missed anything, please do let me know and I would be happy to answer any questions. It's a very pretty, decorative jewerly box, but I have several, am downsizing and just have way to much collected over the years. Payment can be paypal, cashiers check or money order, but no personal checks please. Insurance is optional at $1.65 and not responsible if not insured and lost in transit. US shipping only. Payment required no later than 1 week of end of auction or reserve right to relist.
