This is an old Kit Cat Clock, late 1940's, with Bakelite body and glow in the dark eyes. The clock face and clock hands also were made to glow in the dark but are not very bright now. The clock motor runs quietly and keeps accurate time. I tested it for a couple of days.
This is an older model that was made before the front paws or bow ties were added on later models.
This clock is all original in great original condition. IT DOES RUN ! !
The eyes move side to side and the tail pendulum does move side to side. (A tail can be purchased from the Kit Kat Co. website or one can easily be made from black fur type material and hung on the metal pendulum.)
These are hard to find in running, original, condition.
This clock has not been reworked or rebuilt. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get.
The body is bakelite. T are no cracks in the body. All the painting on the clock is original. T is some wear for the paint on the paws and the paint on the clock hands has some wear. The electrical cord is in good working condition. The clock hands are original. The clock is 6 inches tall, 4 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches thick.
The motor is marked "Hansen Mfg. Co. Inc., SYNCHRON, Princeton, Indiana, Model 600, 110 volt, 60 cycle."
The metal back plate is marked "KIT CAT KLOCK, Manufactured by Allied Manufacturing Co., Seattle, Wash., U.S.A., Mfd. under Patents Nos. 2,237,958, 2,237,951, 2,256,711, 2,298,373 and others, Volts 115, Watts 3, Cycles 60, CODE NO 11222."
I picked this up at a Midwest, Kansas Auction. I have started with a low opening bid. This is not in perfect condition but it is in great original condition with no cracks or major problems of any kind. Please see all the pictures.
