This is the most wonderful vintage cast still bank. Don't know how old piece is but it is not new. Quite different. I believe it is cast brass. It is very heavy & detailed. T are no seams or makers markings. The 5" guy is chained to a tree stump. He has a bridle on which is cast into the piece. His eyes are glass & original to the bank. One glass eye is split in half but still attached & one of the neck rings are gone. Preventing the money box from locking by inserting a lock onto the missing neck ring. See pixs. The top of the tree trunk comes off but is attached to a chain & the other end of the chain is attached to the bear's neck collar. His hinged neck opens & supports itself. He is mounted to a brass base which has two extra holes. My guess is he was mounted to something else once upon a time. His tongue is sticking out perhaps he is looking for honey.
