1930's PEWABIC METTALIC ART POTTERY VASE Iridescent Drip Glaze Good Impress Mark OLD BASE CHIP T's a base chip apology to make about this piece. T's also a legitimate attribute to make about this piece. It's Pewabic. Metallic. With the good Pewabic oxide drip glaze. Thick. Glazed on the interior, iridized glaze on the bottom enough to make it a tough piece to photograph. I did my best. The colors are earthen in tone ranging from blues and greens to purples and chocolatey mocha browns. All swirling around the vase's ovid body. Measures: 5 3/4"H 2 1/2"Base 2 1/4"Top The vase has the appropriate impress PEWABIC DETROIT in disc form. But t are three impress marks just above the Pewabic and I am unable to identify. It is either a three letter impress of the maker's mark or some date symbol I am unable to make out. It's the feel of the piece which is great. It has a natural earthy feel in the hand. The rounded shape is naturally comfortable to hold in the hand. It's light and porous the way a good piece of Pewabic should feel. Airy. The drip glaze is excellent. Seems to elude and exude light. Colors are rich and ever-changing depending on the light in the room. Sometimes it looks more green, other times soft lavender and blue metallic. Deep and rich. I really like this piece. It's quiet and delicate. Definately well crafted, especially around the smooth neck and mouth. The rim holds the metallic glaze well, and the finely textured grooves of the vase body shows the skill of the potter's hand. The foot is a one inch disc. Is a good skilled piece of old Pewabic. think it's a great piece of American Art Pottery of the era. Comes from an well-appointed estate auction in Michigan. The home of Pewabic's origin. If you have any questions, I am happy to assist. I shall wrap your Pewabic with care and ship it to your home promptly. The new owner is to pay $9.00 for Fully Insured USPS Priority Shipping within the United States. All my THANKS. GOOD LUCK. All cheers, A-
