This is a wonderful antique Real Photo Postcard! It is better than the average storefront photo. This is a photo of the S. M. (?) Gesmer & Sons building. The family storefront is photographed and the awning is printed "Plumbing, Heating". Weathervanes featuring a running horse, a prancing horse and a steer are displayed in the store window. We believe t are also Lightning Rods. Other home decor also is displayed. T is a sign hanging in the right window display featuring photos of homes and possibly farms. The printed matter is almost visible and t is what may be "Hom", possibly homes for sale. We believe Julia Gesmer is in the doorway. She is the writer of the postcard. We believe she is with her father, Martin F. and with her brother William F. Gensmer. The father is listed in the US Census as being a Hardware Merchant in Caledonia, Minnesota.The photo is black and white with a brownish color and has very good contrast. It was mailed from Caledonia by Julia in 1909 and is 3 3/8 by 5 1/2 inches. It is in very good condition and if you turn it to catch glare, you see a slight amount of wear. It is really in quite nice condition. What an especially wonderful storefront! Please email questions and we welcome information. If t is a lag time of more than a couple days between items you purchase, we require payment for the earlier item and will still combine shipping. We pack using heavy cardboard. We can ship this via First Class Mail for $2 or via Priority Mail for $4.60. PLEASE NOTE: Insurance is required on items over $20. We ship quickly with Paypal, money order and Bid Pay. With personal check, we ship 10 to 14 days after receiving the check. The photo is black and white with a brownish color and has very good contrast. The photo is a little MORE BROWN than seen below. We will attempt to improve it.
