A vintage (I'm guessing circa 1950) Pres-A-Lite cigarette lighter and dispenser for use in an automobile. Included are the Pres-A-Lite in "forest green" bakelite, three pieces of promotional material, installation hardware, and its original box. It's from the Pres-A-Lite Sales Corp., N.Y., N.Y. According to the promotional flyer the Pres-A-Lite "hands you lighted ready to smoke cigarettes while you drive ..... 100% automatic ..... avoids accidents ..... fits all cars ..... clamp it on in a few minutes ..... holds 23 cigarettes ... beautifully made of Bakelite and pressed aluminum ... designed by Raymond Loewy ...... over one million now in use ..... endorsed by safety authorities everyw ... only $6.95". The Pres-A-Lite is new old stock, is in excellent original condition, and has never been used. Please note, however, that the promotional material shows the Pres-A-Lite with a plug in adaptor for a car's cigarette lighter. The Pres-A-Lite does NOT have this plug.
