You are bidding on a rare Hakata Urasaki doll made as the base of an electric table lamp. This Hakata doll is in excellent condition. T are no cracks, chips or repair. Labels on bottom indicate they were from Fukuota Japan. This lamp has the original shade and light fixture. The doll portion measures 8 1⁄2 inches high. The pole that he leans against is 10 1⁄2 inches high to the point w the electrical light socket extends. The lamp shade has darkened with age and is in very good condition. The shade stands 7 1⁄2 inches high and has a 7 inch diameter base at bottom. The electrical cord does have problem with bare wires and should not be plugged in before replacing the wire. The color on this figure has brilliant color. This lamp was purchased at an estate auction that included items of a Korean or WWII veteran. These dolls and lamps were crafted in Japan specifically as souvenirs for U.S. Military personnel. The doll was sold at a shop of military base. Fukuoka is very near Korea, so many Korean veterans from 1950-53 brought these items home. Many if not most of these dolls are found in the United States. These items were made from clay that is bisque fired and meticulously had painted.
