I'd guess these came out sometime around the late 1920s to the early 40s - I'm just not sure, but this one has remained in really nice condition. It's heavy, weighing in at 1 lb. 7 oz. - and it measures 5" by 2 1/2" by almost 3" tall. The base may be onyx - I never can get that straight in my head. Whatever it is, it's a beautiful rock - green with lots of matriix. It's hard. You can't scratch it with your fingernail like you can alabaster. The original felt remains on the bottom. You'll notice, if you're real anal in your examination, a few very minor dings around the bottom edge. They aren't serious, and you'd have to look hard to see it, but they are t so don't holler at me later about it. at 341, I have two "Prime Directives:" First: I never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and everything starts at $9, sometimes even less. Second: I don't clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around with anything.
