OLD Sebring Pottery Serenade Salt & Pepper w/stoppers NR LOOK Look at this! we offer for Your Consideration Two Lovely Pieces of Vintage Sebring Pottery in Fabulous Condition! These Sweet Little Salt & Peppers each measure about 2 1/2 inches across and stand a little over 2 1/2 inches tall. They are empty and fairly clean, but I don't dare attempt to clean or polish! The colors are bright and true, the (what I believe to be) 22K Gold accents are Dazzling, and the Charming Ladies are Exquisite! These Pieces were included with other Serenade by Sebring items that I bought at an Estate Sale recently. The transferware on the Creamy Background Area is "Serenade" and the Gold Flowers, Leaves, Swirls and Dots atop the Burgundy or Maroon base may be the Chantilly pattern, but I'm not positive. These pieces are not marked - but I believe the Gold to be 22K, since the others are marked as such in the collection. This Beautiful Blast from the Past features two Victorian-looking Ladies sitting. The other Serenade pieces that I have also show a man to the right Serenading them with what appears to be a Lute or Mandolin - his topcoat strewn on the ground. The ladies appear to be ignoring him :-) Condition: We Believe in Full Disclosure so that you are sure what you are bidding on. This set contains only one original cork, the other cork is green plastic. We will use the cork types to distinguish between the two pieces in our description. Green Plastic Cork - This one appears to be a fraction less wide than the other! No Clue why...Beginning at the top, we have the decal or transfer of the ladies. The colors are nice and true with only a teeny sign of wear on the shaker hole that is at about the 7 o'clock position. T is also a very light scratch about 1/8 of an inch long going from the creamy area to the shaker hole at the 2 o'clock position. I had to use a magnifying glass to see these. Cream colored area: T are some flea-bites which appear to be from the manufacturing process. One looks like a burst bubble about the size of a pin-point. T are a few others areas w t are tiny discolorations under the glaze, all are very, very small. T is one w a tiny smidge of dust? sand? clay? whatever, is under the glaze and sticks up a bit. T are also two small lines of Gold w the painter may have brushed the surface a bit by mistake? I can detect No Crazing on this piece. The Maroon or Burgundy bottom part with 22K Gold scrollwork is in excellent condition with minimal gold finish loss. On some areas w the Maroon meets the Cream above it, t is a light graduation of the Maroon color if you look closely. I hope this makes sense! The Bottom of the foot appears to be unglazed and has some light marks. I cannot find any chips, cracks, dings, dents or scrapes on this piece! It's FABULOUS! Brown Cork - Beginning at the top. On the transfer Shaker hole at about 4 o'clock in the photo, it appears that t is a crack emanating from the partially drilled shaker hole. THIS IS NOT the case - the brown color of the design of the transfer makes it look this way. However, the hole is not 100% drilled - not sure why, and t is a teeny, teeny bit of transfer loss above the outstretched arm of the lady in Yellow and near the partially drilled hole. Hope this makes sense! Below the transfer on the Cream colored body of the piece, t are normal and customary teeny fleabites and t and some light surface scratches that can really only been seen under a magnifying glass at a certain angle. The Maroon or Burgundy bottom part is a bit off kilter - 3 of the gold dots extend above the Maroon or Burgundy base towards the top. Correspondingly, at the bottom of the Maroon/Burgandy base t is a bit of Cream peeking through. In addition, the line between the top of the Burgundy Maroon base w it meets the Cream color is not totally even. As with the other piece, the bottom rim is unglazed and has minor marks.
