is the larger sized range-top set made by Shawnee in the Muggsy line. These are about 5 and 1/2" tall. One has 4 holes and one has 5 holes for shaking. Nice paint and no damage to note. One has original cork plug that is up inside the dog. Other has no plug. Take a look at the whole set of dogs. They are great together. Nice vintage items for your kitchen or collection. Description ( revised ) Item Specifics Maker : Shawnee Material: Pottery Original or Reproduction : Original Orgin: USAThis is the smallest size salt and pepper set Shawnee produced in the 'Muggsy" line. This dog was often called the 'toothache dog'. They measure not quite 3 1/2" tall. EXCELLENT condition with no damage that I find. Nice paint. One has 4 holes and other has 3 holes for shaking. What is extra neat is that the original old corks are in them with what I believe looks like the original price on the bottom of one...looks like it was 59 cents! Mom remembers buying items like this at the dime store (some of you may have used the term 5 & dime). This whole set is just fun...take a look at the group shot. Any questions, please ask early. These Muggsy salt and pepper shakers are guaranteed to be the REAL DEAL from Shawnee made back in the 1940s. They are NOT reproductions!!!!! The winning buyer is welcome to come to our house to pick them up if they would like to pay with cash. I did some internet searching and found out about all the reproductions currently being sold on eBay so I DO understand your concern. Please check my feedback and also the other antiques I sell. I will stand behind the age and authenticity of all of the Muggsy auctions. I am certain you will be pleased when you see them! Ok... goes again. In trying to add to the description I accidentally added some info from the other Muggsy auction (the small set). This set for sale is the taller RANGE SET. And ONLY the RANGE SET.
