Description: An old and really lovely single-handled & lidded chamber pot or commode from Smith-Phillips China, East Liverpool, Ohio, in their 'Fenix' pattern, c.1910. Pretty molded/raised pattern all over resembling plants & leaves; beautfully shaped applied handle on commode. Dimensions: 8 1/2" tall including lid; 9 1/2" in diameter; 10 3/4" wide including handle
Markings: stamped on the bottom of the pot, in a circle, "Smith=Phillips" "Fenix" with a crown in the center
Condition: Incredible for its age - this is only the 2nd chamber pot I've ever seen that still had it's original lid. No breaks, discoloration, crazing or scratching; very minor paint loss. T are a few chips on the underside of one side of the lid - one of these can be slightly seen on the outside - see photos.
