This is an old sterling locket which contains a relic of unknown material under glass. It is hand painted & reads "S. Pii X P. C"--which I have determined to be Saint Pius X. The relic can be removed from the locket to reveal an official Papal red wax seal with string. The locket closes tight and is ready to wear--I will leave cleaning up to the new owner. The chain measures aprox. 18 1/2"; the locket 3/4 of an inch across--the removable relic window is the size of a dime.
