Up for Auction is what we are told is an EXTREMELY RARE Piece and one of the Best Pieces we have had to offer in a while. This was found at an estate buyout of a Silverr Collector who passed on. This lot contains some of the best and most interesting Sterling/Silve Pieces we have ever obtained (may have seen items listed already and t is more to come). The lot has now been gone through and we are happy to have and be able to auction prior to the holidays. We only did a gentle wipe down. We showed this to a colleague who recomended that we get an appraisal on this Piece (want to note he is only a collector and by no means an expert -- sure collectors will know). We would rather offer on ebay and allow market to establish prise. Sterling Silver Overlay with Very Elaborate Design. As Pic's can only do justice to this remarkable piece, many have been included.T are Many Markings on this Piece Both On the Outside of Piece, The Bottom of Sterling, and Inside the Cap. It was very hard to capture in pic's so I will do the best I can to explain all Markings:The Bottom Sterling has 6 consecutive Symbols. T is a Shield type Shape witn AN Inside -- This is followed by what looks like possibly a Lion facing left in a rectangular type shape -- Than what looks like a Cats Head inside of a square typw shape -- That is followed by an R inside a box type shape -- Than in a box it reads 925 with what looks like weights on both sides, but not sure inside a rectangular shape -- That is followed by 925The Cap has 4 consecutive Symbols. The first is what looks like a Lion in a rectangular type shape facing left -- Following this is what looks like a Cats Head inside a box type shape -- that is followed by 925 which looks like it has weights (scales) around it, but not sure inside a rectangular type shape -- following that is 925The inside of Cap reads 14 L -- T is something written above and Below that, but can not make out.No Monogram.Hopefully from the Style and the Description of the Markings collectors will know Piece and it's age. It measures approx. 2.5" high from surface to top of cap. Weighs approx 1.5 onces (heavy for size).EXCELLANT CONDITION. Those who know our Auctions know we try to note everything and include pic's of all angles. We also do not use the word mint as we do not feel any piece can be completely mint. UNDER CLOSE INSPECTION T WERE NO FLAWS FOUND. T are some slight direct surface scratches on bottom (these are extremely minor and mostly streaks from our quick cleaning -- anything else would buff right out, but is not necessary). Pic's show an accurate portrayal. WOULD BE EXTREMELY HARD PRESSED TO FIND ANOTHER LIKE THIS.As this is sold as is please ask any questions, and more pic's is never a problem.
