For your consideration today is this very large Thomas Edison Model No. B-80 table top, diamond disc phonograph player that has a great reproducer unit that retains a very fine chrome finish. Although this is going to be a very heavy item when all packed up, aprox 61 lbs, we are giving some early shipping estimates through the Fed Ex Home Delivery option from Minnesota which are really not too bad for this type of package . To California around $49.00, to South Carolina about $30.00, around $42.00 to state of Washington, and around $30.00 to Kentucky. So, as you can see, for a package weighing around 60 lbs, this is not bad at all!! Again, these are estimates, but they should be pretty close to final shipping weight. Thanks for your time and please email with any questions or shipping quotes!! This is a very grand style phonograph that is markedThomas Edison B 80 with a serial number of 13400 on the metal label, the last patent date is listed as 1913 so believe this to be from around that era. The reproducer is one great highlight to this unit as it remains in very fine shape, and the cabinet or case is very large in stature measuring 24.5" front to back and 18.5" wide at the base, then is about 17.5" tall overall. This includes the fancy wood knob feet that it has which are about 1.25" high, but t is one missing, with three being in fine shape. They do add a pretty neat feature to the item. The motor spring winds up well for the phonograph and most of the time would run along smoothly, the wind or spring seemed to hold pretty well, but the turntable would not always run as the belt on the underside will need replacing as that does not grip well anymore, then when the belt does grab off and on, t is a vibration around the underside of the turntable, and not quite sure what was doing that, but did not see anything that looked bad. The motor will need a lube job and some tinkering to get it running correctly, but as you can see from the two underside photo's, the parts appear to be very sound but just not sure if all is t or not, or if totally in fine order, so we sell that part as is. We can see the governor weights are all t, the gears look very nice and smooth, so appears to be some very good parts. The reproducer of this item is really quite a highlight as it has a very sharp chrome finish yet with only a few limited spots that are not totally clean, it has a very high gloss or shine that does not show as well in the pictures, it measures around 5.5" long overall, the outlet end that hooks to the arm is 1" in diameter and has the small catch pin, it slips onto the main connection very nicely, the reproducer seems to be all t, but not sure how much of the diamond point is left for playing, we tried one record but think it is not the correct type, I took out my high powered jewelry lense and t is just a bit of point left, but assume this will need replacing, the connecting pin and wire are still attached fine, the reproducer covering is in fine shape, the cork gasket is slightly apart, and really do not know if these items have been replaced or not. The bottom part still has a nice strip of metal for fine action, and the item is numbered F 48992. Very, very nice looking unit with a great looking finish!! The reproducer arm is in solid shape but has lost most of the paint, the connection for the head part is fine, the rear part has a lift knob that does work to lift or set the needle onto the record, t is a stop or brake system that works fine, then a speed dial on the outside near the crank that also seems to work a bit, but not sure how well. Both are solid, but the speed dial has some surface rust on it. The turntable is about 11 5/8" in diameter and in very solid, straight shape, t is replaced felt that is not on good, and t is still some remains left from the old covering underneath. The lift arm for the top cover is in fine shape, and works well, the hinges are in fine shape and work good, and the original Thomas Edison model label is in great, clean shape, and measu...
