You are now bidding on an Old Timer 34OT Middleman Pocket Knife. The Middleman is a 3 5/16" closed, stockman pattern, pocket knife with Clip, Spey, and Sheepsfoot blades. These blades are carbon steel and prized for taking and holding a keen edge. The clip blade is tang stamped "Schrade U.S.A. 34OT". This knife was made in the USA before Schrade closed their production facilities in Ellenville, New York. The 34OT has been one of the most popular knives in the Old Timer line for many years. Now with the closing of Schrade the 34OT is also being sought after by the collectors. This knife is very unique in that the Clip blade is engraved "Glide Lumber 8/98". The engraving is professionally done and assures you of the year this knife was made. At least it was made no later than 1998. The Old Timer Middleman is made with sawcut Delrin scales, which Old Timer calls "unbreakable Staglon".The handles are brass pinned to brass liners and flanked with attractive nickel silver bolsters. The front handle is inlaid with an Old Timer shield. You will instantly recognize this as the knife that "Looks just like Grandpa's." The blades have not been sharpened and appear unused. They are very attractive with great snap. This one just looks like it was won for a safety award and ended up in a drawer since then. They very minor stray wisps of handling wear is the only issue keeping this classic knife from a mint grade and some may even call it that anyway. You will find this knife very attractive for display and ready to give many years of reliable service if you choose to make it your new everyday carry pocket tool. The USA made Old Timer 34OT Middleman is becoming harder to find. Don't let this nice one get away without a bid. Thanks for looking at another quality knife.
