I'm selling a number of my old Kirchhof, Cohn, Chien and other tin Halloween noisemakers that I've picked up over the last 30 or 40 years. So, please check out my other auctions. This auction is for a wonderful tin black cat sparkler. The piece is 5.25 inches across (from the top of the cat face to the tip of the plunger). The cat face itself is 2 3/8 inches across and the image and lithography are in great condition. The eyes are circular and cut out. The mouth is cut out as well (with nice, jagged teeth). The plunger works great with no sticking or catching. The spring is tight and the gears work well. The cat's face is black and I really can't see any problems at all. The background is the typical rich Halloween orange. T are two transparent "gels", one red and one blue on the disk that spins when the plunger is pushed. They're in good condition with no damage I can see. The only thing missing are the two flints. I was going to insert a pair, but you may want to do it differently than me, so I'm leaving them alone. It's a beautiful piece. It's not marked, but the shape of the piece looks very similar to a Chien Pumpkin Sparkler. To me the graphics and design look like the 1930s or 40s (definitely older).I've included one photo of the whole group of items (clickers, clackers, rattles, ratchets, bells)... so check it out to be sure
