For your consideration I am listing two vintage Henry Disston and Sons hand saws from my collection of old tools. Both these saws are high quality saws and I believe they both have boxwood handles, but I am not 100% sure on this. I will describe them as follows: The first saw I believe is the older of the two. If t was any writing on the blade is long gone. However, the blade is free of rust and only has some minor rust pitting in on small area. The blade is 28" long. Under the handle it looks like t is a number five, which would make sense in that t are five teeth per inch on the blade. This saw has a beautiful handle that has an extra hole for the index finger. T is a brass emblem on the saw handle that says: DISTON SON PHILADA. T is also a scale inside the emblem. This saw is quite wide as you can see on the ruler on the pictures. The second saw is also a Disston and Sons. Marked on the blade directly below the handle is a 0. On the saw blade is an emblem that says: ESTABLISHED IN 1840, HENRY DISSTON AND SONS. T is a scale inside this emblem and below it it says: PHILADELPHIA and the word LIGHTWEIGHT. T is also some writing on the saw but all I can make out is: FOR BEAUTY - - - - THIS SAW CANNOT BE EXCELLED, HENRY DISSTON. On the handle of this saw t is a metal emblem that says: DISSTON PHILA.
