We've had this wonderful old Cuckoo Clock for many years. It has a label on the back marked "Uhren Schaaf Heidelberg", which we think may be the distributor. T are no other markings or logos anyw that we can find. It is a 24 hour clock with a hand painted dial of roman numerals, and a beautiful hand painted wood cuckoo. The eyes on the three birds around the outside of the clock are glass. It has 2 access doors, one on each side, so that you can get to the pulleys which hold the chains. The weights are original, but one of the weight hooks has been replaced with a new one, as it was missing when we got the clock. We think it is an older clock, perhaps 1950's or earlier. The clock does work, but the hands do not move, as they are loose on the shaft. We think that with a little work to the shaft, the hands will move. You can move them around the face and hear the cuckoo, which has beautiful hand painted colors and sounds a deep two note Cuckoo. I only wish we could attach a sound file so that you could hear it. It has the nicest cuckoo of any of the 15 or so clocks we have. The crown piece was broken at some time (before we had it), and glued back together as you can see in the picture.
