Wonderful old victorian antique Masonic Knight Templar Sword with a gold finish. The sword was made by the Henderson Ames Company between the years 1893 until 1923.This is a genuine Knights Templar Sword; it is from an estate in central Wisconsin. This is a beautifully crafted Templar Sword, in wonderful condition for its age. All the parts of the sword is tight and solid. The mounts on this gorgeous sword and scabbard all have a gold toned finish, which has worn off in spots from years of use; some areas have more gold than others. The pommel or top of the sword is of a knights head. I'm not sure how to describe the grip of the sword, it looks like a black finish was placed over yellow ivory or a material that looks like ivory and then the designs were etched through the black finish to reveal the ivory underneath. T are quite a few scratches on the grip (from use and age) that reveal the yellow ivory material underneath. The grip has a design on both the front and back of the grip, the front has the owners initials etched, GEW and the back has a stylized cross design etched into it. The hand or knuckle guard on this sword features the beautiful classic "Cross through the crown" design. The Scabbard has some beautiful mounts on this sword, it has the Emperor Constantine's great vision, and the ancient cross through the crown symbol. In both of these designs t is blue and red enamel used on them. but t are some chips to the enamel do to age and wear. The middle mount has the initials KT for Knights Templarand has very little gold finish left on it. The bottom mount shows a great deal of the gold finish and it has a decorative elaborately styled drag. The blade is very decorative and has elaborate designs etched on it both sides along with the name of the original owner on one side. The owners name etched into the center of the blade is - GUY E. WHITE. The scabbard also has the owners name etched onto it.The middle of the blade has wear from being placed into the scabbard repeatedly.The sword has the name of the manufacturer etched into it as well on one side, THE HENDERSON AMES CO KALAMAZOO MICHIGAN. The overall measurement of the sword with the scabbard is about 37 inches end to end.The measurement of just the sword is 35 ¼ inches end to end, the blade alone is 28 3/8 i nches long. Also included with this sword is the original leather case and the inside cloth cover (which is torn and needs some repair). The leather case has the owners name and city and state on it it reads - G.E.WHITE MINERAL POINT WISalong with two twist latches and the leather handle. The leather case is embossed with a design down the length of it. The case does have some dark discoloration on it from age and use. The overall measurements of the case are 37 ½ inches long and 6 1/2 inches wide. The items are in great vintage condition, but because everyone has a different opinion of condition, we will never state that an item is excellent or mint, even if that is what we think.
