You are bidding on an old set of bells that years ago may have likely been attached to an entry door to a shop or store. The sound is robust (loud), bright and clear --- I dare say, "angelic"!

The bells are made of steel with three small wrought iron clappers inside each bell, each suspended from a little "S" hook attached to a cast 3-way hanger. The hanger stud goes through a hole in the top of each bell and is hand-peened over. The bells are attached to a sturdy steel strap that is approx. 14-3/4" long and has three holes in it for installation (you may have to improvise when it is fitted to your door). The largest bell is 2-3/4" diam., 2" high. Next is 2-5/8" diam., 1-3/4" high. Next is 2-1/2" diam., 1-1/2" high. Smallest is 2-3/8" diam., 1-1/2" high. The clappers on the two largest bells are 5/8" in diam.; 1/2" on the two smaller bells.

I cannot overemphasize the beautiful, clear sound of these bells. They ring 4 different pitches, and if you know anything about music, they form an enchanting Fmaj7 chord (F, A, C, E on the piano). No matter how big your shop or store (or home!) is, the sound from these bells will easily reach into every room, every corner (if you wanted to actually hear them, I would be glad to 'jingle' them for you over the phone --- if you want, I will email you my phone number). It's hard to imagine that you will ever hear a more beautiful set of bells anyw! They will definitely become a memorable expression of warmth and welcome as people come into your shop, store, or your house!
