This is a neat old wood mantel clock, made in Germany. We bought this at an estate sale from an older lady who moved from Germany 40 yrs. ago. She didn't know how old this clock was but obviously it has to be at least 40 yrs old, the style looks more like 30's to 40's to me. Maybe those of you who are more knowledgable about such things will be able to tell from the pics! The glass cover over the face is missing and we did not find a key for it, unless it's taped inside the back of the clock somew On the inside of the door is a manufactures label, but it's all in German and since we don't speak German we have no idea what it says! Will try to get a good close-up pic. We were not able to test this clock, it may work fine or it may need a little work to get it going. The serial number is 120471. I believe this clock chimes but I don't know if it plays a tune or if just strikes out the time. SIZE: 21" wide x 5 3/4" deep x 8 1/2" tall. COLOR: Dark brown finish ERA / DATE: Not sure. CONDITION: Nice! Wood is a little dry, could use a little wood conditioner or oil to bring it back to it's original luster. All of the scrolling detail is intact, no pieces missing. Wood has no chips or cracks. Hands are intact, latch on door is intact and working. Metal face and numbers are intact. Only thing missing is face cover and key.
