A Vintage, Neat, Unique and Old Sewing Box, Sewing Caddy, Table or Sewing Stand from England. The workmanship is good with a very functional design. It can double as an end table, lamp or phone table or even a bedside table. The finish is still pretty good but not perfect, it has a few dings & scratches. It's made of Solid Oak. T is no veneer in the sewing box. On the exporters manifest it was described as a "English Victorian Era Sewing Box". I have seen boxes made on this style, with the sliding tops, but never one with such a Victorian Flair to it like this one. Note the pretty turned post legs with stretchers connecting them front & back & side to side. Also the cute cuts of the bottom of the box w it joins to the legs/ It even has "teardrop feet". The solid oak sliding top is 12 1/2" X 19 3/4" and is 23 3/4" tall. The body of the box or storage area is 16" X 10 3/4" and is about 2 1/4" deep. The drawer is 14 1/2" X 9 3/4" and about 2" deep. The Patina is a medium dark Oak. The drawer front is a lighter color of Oak, kind of a dark Honey Oak. As with any vintage item this age and with it's travels, it has a ding or two and some scratches, blemishes but for being as old as it is, it's a very neat & unique box.
