This is wonderful old folk art carving that dates to the 1930's. The artist is David Larson. He passed away around 20 years ago. He was in his 90's at the time of his death. He lived in Duluth Minnesota at the time of his death. He painted, and also did these unique sculpture's during his lifetime.. I think they are amazing with a wonderful outsider, folk art look. They detail is exceptional. I think this woman may be his wife. She is standing with her dress blowing in the wind with a basket of apples on the ground next to her. Sadly her extended arm is broken off at the elbow. Still a wonderful sculpture. Hard to take your eyes off of her! The size is 11 inches tall and 8 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Completely hand carved of wood and hand painted. Buyer pays 8.00 shipping in the U.S. and 20.00 worldwide shipping. Please check my other auctions for 2 more sculptures and 1 painting from the same artist. The sculpture is signed on the bottom in Pencil D.A. Larson.
