Hey Ya'll! Up for auction, you will be bidding on a fabulous 1948-1970's Vintage M exican Sterling Silver Compact depicting the Pre-Columbian Aztec era of the 16th century. What a fantastic, early mexican piece to add to your collection of old Mexican sterling silver. This is an outstanding piece of handcrafted artistry by the old silversmiths of old Mexico, complete with an amazing Aztec god or goddess carving on the top portion of the compact! Top quality work that is very rarely ever seen in a compact! This piece is thoroughly hallmarked, is a superior, heavy piece of sterling silver, with magnificent, incredible sculptural mexican markings and designs inside and out. Compact can also be used as a pill box, or is ideal for small jewelry items, or as your mirror for applying jewelry.

Construction of compact includes lots of gorgeous zigzag stitching all around the edges of the top portion frequently seen with Aztec mexican jewelry. In the center, is detailed artistry of an Aztec cultural figurine that is representative of a warrior, god or goddess. Compact has a heavy, substantial weight to it and opens easily with a push button on the front. Upon opening, a guilloche center shield reveals even more intimate sculptural design work that is just absolutely beautiful!! The guilloche shield is opened with another push button by moving it to the right which then reveals the inner well, and closed by moving the button back to the left to close. Inside the well sits the original powder puff that displays the original silver company logo of, "IMP Silver Factory Marca Reg." Beneath the powder puff lays the original sifter, and a little bit of facial powder that still remains. Mirror is in excellent, clear condition with some tarnish on the mirror holder, but that's it. Minor surface scratches on silver, but no dents, dings that I can see. WOW, what a find, and still in such fantastic condition, and fully hallmarked!
