's an interesting old large ledger we received with some old and antique books recently. The ledger itself is in rough, well used condition and is from about th 1915 period. The prior user/owner is somewhat of a mystery, perhaps a pharmacist or apothecary shop, or maybe a hospital in the Newport area of Vermont or nearby. It appears that the first 20 blank pages were removed or discared at an earlier time and I'd say about 50 pages are left. The person that used this ledger had some type of method for gluing prescriptions from area doctors and other pharmacies to the pages. T are a great number of these from all over Northern Vermont and some from locations in Canada. As the pictures show t are many on each page. T are also several full pages of advertisements for area businesses in the same general area of Vermont at this time. T is some handwriting in a couple places we notices and probably a little more will be found upon closer review. Lots of content regarding area doctors and the medicine prescribed during this period. The ledger is large at about 16 by 11 inches in face dimension. Should be fun for those who enjoy papers and correspondence of the past. That's about it.
