We have friends who just can't understand our fascination with antique porcelain. Well, we can't understand how they can see a piece of porcelain like this and not be fascinated by the old techniques and quality in a piece of porcelain like this that is 100 - or more - years old. This was made in England by W H Grindley, and it is the Albany pattern. Seldom will you ever find a flow blue gravy boat or sauce bowl is such wonderful condition. Note the flow blue rose on the inside of the spout, so when a right-handed person pours from this, they see this rose. The outside edge is molded in relief with a beaded edge and tiny beaded flowers. Around the bottom of the bowl, before the foot, is a deeply scalloped upside-down UUU pattern. We have taken a picture of the handle, just to show you how extraordinary it is. This is truly a super piece! Size: From edge of spout to end of handle 9"; 4" high at handle; 3 7/8" across the bowl; 7 1/4" the length of the bowl. Marked: as shown, with authentic Grindley 'globe' mark. CONDITION: No chips, no cracks, no hairlines. It's nice. :) Note: All our china items are genuine antiques. It is not unusual for antique porcelain to have ash specks (from wood-fired kilns), and these specks are not considered damage. Though it may need further cleaning, we do lightly clean our porcelain before listing to enable us to find any damage.
