ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER CIGARETTE CASE
Gorgeous Design and Craftsmanship
4.2 ounces/120 grams solid Sterling Silver
Gold Wash Gilt Interior
Signed W in a half circle STERLING 78
Mark of Watrous Mfg. Co. of
Wallingford, CT from 1896 until 1898
when it was absorbed by International
Silver Co.
Antique sterling silver cigarette case.
The case is in excellent used conditon.
No dents or dings & minimal use wear.
Original patina is intact=NO cleaning or polishing.
Interior has a gorgeous gold gilt wash.
Exterior has a wonderful orange peel texture.
Upper left Front corner of lid has a small
intricate & detailed hand etched design/cartouche.
I can't tell for sure if it is monogrammed
because the deeply etched pattern is very busy.
From viewing the photos & using a 15X jeweler's loupe,
the design appears to have a very light/subtle
monogram "MK" that blends into the cartouche design.
The case is in Excellent used condtion with minimal wear
or use scratches. As shown in photos.
Open & closes perfectly & all hinges are strong
and functioning properly.
Measures 4.25 inches X 3.25 inches CLOSED.
3/8 th inches thick.
