HUGE 18 3/4" WEDGWOOD PLATTER BLUE/WHITE TRANSFERWARE IMPRESS MARKED STAMPED LANDSCAPE ETRURIA ENGLAND This is an exceptional platter. Not only for its commanding size, but for its classic scenic depiction and its superb condition. Came from an extremely well-appointed family estate auction in the Midwest. Approx Measurements 18 3/4"W by 14 1/4D by 1 1/2"H Total Whopping Weight 5lbs 12.5oz Impress marked Wedgwood CRT Stamped Landscape Wedgwood Etruria, England Condition is exceptional for its age. T is one area on the front of the plate which shows a small yellow bruise which I photographed. T is not a single crack, chip or repair. For once, a great old platter without a rim chip! T is some minor wear to the underneath rim and the bottom. Was used as a center display. The blue/white scene is fantastic. About as classic as they come. Bold, large floral blooms surrounding the rim are decorative and form a great border. Center of the platter depicts a Harbour scene with the tall ship, and crew rowing ashore. Detail is excellent with neoclassic ruins, structures, and trees. Has both an Asian and Neoclassic motif. Images are crisp and vibrant. No loss or fading. Think this is a superb piece of Wedgwood Is in outstanding condition, and the scenic Harbour depiction is Classic. If you are a collector of all thing blue/white, or looking for an exciting display piece to compliment your decor, this Wedgwood Transferware platter would make an exceptional piece.
