This is an albumen photo on cabinet card-like stock paper but with no photographer signature. Location unknown, it remains a great look into the old west and shows four men (from cowboy to bowler hat gentleman) standing in the saloon. The bartender poses behind the bar w a nice mix of fancy glassware and flocked, victorian wallpaper add elegance. The bar has a heavy, carved appearance and in a place of prominence, on the end of the bar, is a taxidemy glass display case. Very large, inside are different birds including a large wild turkey, a large hawk or eagle, pheasant, a snowy white owl and more. In the bottom of the case, t is a large egg, bones, feathers etc. On top of the case, another bird is present but standing up on his hind legs is a stuffed alligator. On the wall, are numerous deer heads, a horned sheep, an african-type sheep and, in the front on the left side of the wall, is a large moose. Great advertising for the Spring Hill Distillery is on the wall in the background. The photo, unmatted, measures 8 1/2" in length by 6 5/8" in height. The total piece, including the backing, measures 11" in length by 8 1/2" in height. Excellent condition, the photo is clean and clear. One minor crease is in the back mat (only) on the left-hand side and the cut is uneven but this photo remains unusual and highly collectible. Most likely read more
