This is an old oil can with a great Western Auto logo on it. The can is metal, with two handles on it. One is at the top, for carrying, and the other is on the side, near the bottom, to help in pouring and to keep this round can from rolling. Both handles are metal, and the one on the side has a wooden center. It also has a pouring spout and the original metal screw-on lid that does unscrew and come off. The overall condition of the can is good, given it's age, which I would place at about 1930's. T are no holes anyw in the can, and it was still holding liquid when I got it. T are some small areas of surface rust, but nothing significant, and nothing that threatens the integrity of the can itself. I have wiped off the can with a wet cloth, but have done no other cleaning, so as not to jeopardize the logo. The logo is on both sides of the can, and is the same on both sides. The colors in the logo are blue and orange, with some of the lettering in off-white, which was probably white originally. The printing is very legible, and the logo is in good condtion. It reads, from top to bottom, 5 GALLONS Motor Oil Long-Run BEST ALL THE WAY Western Auto Supply Co. "Stores in all principal Cities" T are some words on the side of the can which are raised, not painted on, and they read, CC-390 STC 24528 ST. LOUIS CAN CO. OUR EZEE TILTING DRU read more
