Randall Model #2-5 "Letter Opener & Boot Knife" 5" Stainless Steel Blade Model 1 Double Brass Hilt Black Micarta Handle w/ Lanyard - Fishtail Shape Black Johnson Model B Smoothback Sheath Never Used / Never Sharpened / Never Carried New Randall Made Knives Carry Case Excellent+++ Condition 's what the Randall website has to say about a stock model 2-5 knife: Model 2-5" "Letter Opener and Boot Knife". 5" blade of 3/16" stock. Similar to fighting stiletto but lighter and smaller throughout. For desk or concealed weapon use. (Wt. 4-5 oz.) My summary: for consideration is an older, very custom short-bladed Randall Model 2 in excellent+++ or better condition. This is an awesome package; it's the first 2-5 I've seen in this configuration. is a detailed description of the package: Randall model 2-5 with a 5" stainless steel blade, model 1 double brass hilt, and a black micarta handle in what appears to be a rare fishtail configuration. The handle is drilled and lined for the included lanyard. The knife is what I'd label as near mint with just light handling on the hilt and a couple of nicks on the black micarta handle. (all minor) The sheath is a black Johnson model B smoothback with baby dot snaps. It is correctly stamped 2 5 on the front below the RMK logo. The sheath has some type of a fabric insert inside the throat that I presume is t to keep the blade from getting scratched -- I'm not sure whether this is original or not. T is the outline of a sticker long removed from the back -- you can see the outline but t's no discoloration. Overall condition: excellent+++ or better. Please refer to the 12 photos below -- this is as nice as they come. The knife will be carefully packed and shipped "out of sheath" in the new Randall carry case -- the sheath packed on it's own. Someone sure set this one up right -- the handful of custom options and 5" blade length make this a wonderful addition to one's vintage Randall model 2 collection. Good luck.
