Up for bid is a Nicely Detailed Reproduction of a Old Time Favorite Cast Iron Mechanical Bank It's Called " The Ole Puffer Bank". It features a rather mean looking Bulldog ,smoking a Cigar. The way is works is: You push down on his tail, He opens his mouth and moves his head back, as if he's getting ready to Bite. Then you place a coin inside his mouth, release his tail, and he swallows the coin. The coin falls into the Bank below. Coins can be retrieved by removing the Cast Iron coin plug , located on the bottom of the Bank.(see pictures). Stamped on the side of the Bank is the words "CIGAR 5cent Nickels". Stamped on the Front are the words. " OLE PUFFER". Stamped on the Bottom of the Bank are the words: " XONEX,CLEV,OH, MADE IN CHINA" Stamped on the Cast Iron Coin Plug are the words: "PAT FEB.2, 1875". This Bank has been well cared for over the years, and is in "Excellent Condition". All of its mechanical parts work Perfectly. It Measures 6 inches long by 8-1/2 inches tall. The base is 3 inches wide. This is a Heavy Bank due to its Solid Cast Iron, Weighs a little close to 5 pounds unpacked.
