Extremely rare pieces of porcelain decorated by Olive Commons of Miami in her 1920's design. Known as platinum palm-ware it was a patented decoration by Commons and pieces such as this do not come up for sale often. "Commons Miami" is signed on the back. She painted timeless scenes of Florida by hand (palms, moss-laden trees, water scenes with and without boats) developing her own designs. In 1939, she won the Highest Award of Merit for her palm-ware at the New York World's Fair. Olive had a talent for capturing the essence of the Floridian landscapes. These are a wonderful example of her fine work, picturing palms at the base with moss-laden oak branches hanging above them. These measure approximately 3 inches width and 3-4 inches in hight.
