Olympus 35RD Rangefinder - Serviced - Leather Recovered - New Light Seals + Olympus PS200 Quick Flash For sale is a classic rangefinder from the Seventies, a serviced and refurbished Olympus 35RD rangefinder in beautiful condition with no shutter / aperture problems. The camera can be used either as a fully manual model using an external light meter or on automatic, shutter preferred mode. This camera has been tested with film and produces clear and sharp photographs. The camera has a very sharp F. Zuiko 40mm f/1.7 lens with six elements in four groups . Higher quality images and sample photographs taken by this camera on 25 March 2011 on the link below: /albums/a458/eilanacheos/Olympus35RD/ The camera has been serviced very recently by a professional camera shop who specialise in servicing vintage Olympus cameras. Specifically, the lens / shutter mechanism has been stripped and cleaned. The light seals have also been renewed and t he camera has been recovered with a fine yellow leather which was specifically designed and hand cut for this camera by a British craftsman. The camera is supplied with a new battery, t he original camera battery is no longer available which was a 1.35v PX625 mercury battery. It has been replaced with an Energizer 675 1.4v zinc / air battery which provides a constant voltage over its life and works correctly. Using a colour negative film which has a certain amount of latitude, the slight voltage difference shouldn't cause a problem. If problems are found in very bright conditions then just lower the ASA - if using 200 ASA film, set the camera on 100 ASA or lower. A new battery has been fitted to the camera. The viewfinder is clear and the rangefinder mask is distinct and accurate. The lens is clean and the shutter has been fully serviced and works correctly. The light meter readings in the viewfinder compare favourably with a good handheld meter (Sekonic L-158). The camera winds on and the film counter works; the film counter resets with each film. The hot shoe and flash socket have been tested and are functional. New light seals have also been fitted. D ue to the age of the camera no guarantee is offered. Cosmetic 9.75 / 10 The camera has been recovered with a with a fine yellow leather with an attractive grain . There are a few marks around the strap lugs but the metalwork is in very good condition considering the age of the camera. Serial Number: 454731 The camera comes with a a new battery fitted in the camera, an Olympus lens cap and the original case which is in a very worn condition, however is serviceable.
