********Please note that this is a NO RESERVE auction!****** Omanis have an internationally known and respected reputation for their work with coral, high quality stone and gems, silver, gold and other metals. Their craftsmanship is truly beautiful, treasured, and the decoration is unique to the region. The khanjar is an important part of the Omani man's traditional dress and the Omani style of khanjar is unique. The combined efforts can take anywhere from 1 to 2 months to create a custom khanjar. The khanjar's price is greatly varied and depending on the quality of the handle's base, the blade material itself, the purity of the silver(and of course the current price) and, perhaps above all, the difficulty of the design, these exquisite knives can cost anywhere from $50 to $5,000 + plus! This Khanjar with the belt is about 27 inches long. It is handmade with traditional Omani designs & patterns. It comes with a lovely traditional handmade belt. I have included pictures of the khanjar itself plus some others. One picture shows Prince Charles being given a khanjar as a gift from Omani dignitaries during a visit to Oman. The khanjar is considered a special gift that represents the culture and heritage of Oman. Another picture shows an official portrait of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos(the ruler of Oman) wearing his khanjar in the traditional style. An additional picture shows an Oman craftsman working on a khanjar. And finally, there is a picture of the Omani coat of arms, which is also on the Omani flag, showing the central position of the Khanjar as representing Oman, its' history and its' people. This khanjar is coming from Oman. For shipping and handling, you can ship via regular parcel post for $9 worldwide(usually about 2 weeks but please allow up to 5 for the EXTREMELY rare late delivery). If you buy more than one of my items, I will ship together for no additional cost. Please pay within 5 days from end of auction.
