This is a very original Mark II Speedmaster from the early 1970s, using the same Omega 861 movement used in the moon watch. The case is gold (plated I hope, or I should be asking more) and although it shoes signs of its 40+ years age (as do I) I can't see anywhere that the plate has come off. The buckle matches the watch and looks to be the original buckle, which may imply it still has the original strap. Given the state of the leather that wouldn't surprise me but I wouldn't know for sure. The gold dial is clean and untarnished. The watch is running smoothly and keeping good time. The chronograph works, although it suffers from the stuck reset that seems a feature of old 861s. I have a moon watch a couple of years older than this with exactly the same problem. I gather it's not a big deal for a professional to fix, but as it's really not a problem (the chrono automatically returns to zero when you stop it - big deal) I've not bothered with my watch. The thing that gets me with this watch (and makes me reluctant to sell it but never mind) is how clean the movement and dial are. There is no tarnishing on either than I can see. It's a lot cleaner than my moon watch and I can only assume its never been in near water or in a humid environment. This is presumably why it runs so well after forty years.
