Welcome to this listing for a superbly detailed On30 American Hoist & Derrick LOG LOADER mounted on a flat car with rails on the deck. Designed and made by BACKWOODS MINIATURES in the UK. This kit is THE BUDGET VERSION being sold minus trucks which helps keep the cost down. The Loader's one-piece moulded resin flat car (with separately moulded stakes) is designed to accept Bachmann On30 archbar freight trucks. Other trucks will also probably fit. This listing is for the LOG LOADER and the Flat Car on which it is mounted only. Purchaser must supply the necessary trucks mentioned above. A lternatively, consider mounting the Loader on a pedestal or dock. Be creative. It's what On30 modellers do... Photos show my assembled demo model. Check-out the superb level of detail included in this exciting kit. Figure and log shown for illustration purposes only. These items are NOT included in this kit. I also sell extra Log Cars separately to make an impressive log train. This LOG LOADER bodykit comprises precision photo-etched parts and crisp detail casti ngs in whitemetal, brass and resin. The Loader's boiler is supplied as a pre-machined-to-length brass tube and this is clad with a pre-rolled-to-shape, photo-etched brass wrapper which features full rivet detail. The pre-rivetted brass roof too is, as you'd expect to find in a BACKWOODS MINIATURES kit of this quality, pre-rolled to the correct profile. The one-piece watertank is a pro-moulded resin casting. Where necessary, etched brass parts fold to shape via half-etched fold lines. Parts fold easily - and only ever where we intend them to - using nothing more than your fingers, tweezers or flat-nosed pliers. No special - and expensive - folding tools are required. No measuring, marking, scribing or cutting of photo-etched brass parts is necessary. Simply snip photo-etched brass parts from their frets as required and begin assembly. Etched brass parts and detail castings attach via precisely etched locating holes and the use of tabs-and-slots. We don't expect modellers to ever resort to guesswork. Fully detailed step-by-step photo and text instructions - more like a lavishly illustrated booklet - guide the modeller through each rewarding stage of the straightforward assembly procedure. Construction of the model is broken down into various sub-assemblies which, after painting, screw/glue together into the finished model. Kit is designed to be assembled using nothing more than superglue. Alternatively, more experienced modellers may opt to use solder on some parts if they prefer. Your call.
