What you are looking at is a 1940 Dated P. Weyersberg K-98 Bayonet in near mint condition. The scabbard and blade both retain 98-99% of the original early blue black finish. There is slight freckling to the bluing on the scabbard and the blade has thinning of the bluing near the tip but I do mean slight. This bayonet is 70 years old and looks like it was on a shelf for 6 months not 70 years. The acceptance stamp is a waffentamt style with what looks like a B under its left wing.If you want a beautiful untouched early maker marked dated k-98 now is your chance. Before I became known as rarepatchman I collectedGerman daggers and bayonets for 32 years so I know what I am talking about on German Edged Weapons. I was just notified that the Waffenamt with the B under it is a Nazi Police code.I thoght it might be but my 71 year old brain doesnt work like it use to.Thank you Lance
