2 One Gallon Decorated Jugs for 1 Money Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, America's Source for Antique Stoneware , is this wonderful Pair of 1 Gallon Decorated Jugs for 1 Money. The first Jug is marked "Whites Utica" and Features a Cobalt Orchid. It is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 69-70). Stands 11" tall. The second Jug is marked "E. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT" and Features a Cobalt Leaf. It is the work of Edward Norton who ran the family pottery from 1881-1885 (Ketchum, p. 44). Stands 10 1/4" tall. Good to Very Good Condition. The Whites jug has two filled-in chips on the underside edge (1", 1 1/2"- closeup) and kiln touches on each side in the making. The Norton jug has a 5" in-body X hairline on the back (closeup 2) and a couple chips at the base (1/4", 3/4"). Please view the full gallery of pictures as part of the description.
