In the far-off days when Movie Theaters were considered as 'Palaces of Entertainment', special showcases were built at the front of theaters, arranged so perspective filmgoers could look at images from a film before buying a ticket for that film. These were called 'Front-of-House' stills and a large number were done for each film. With the advent of multi-plexes and complete dependence upon TV advertising, the FOH (Front of House) still has become a thing of the past--but these stills are the best material available from most films! Tonight I am going to focus on Hammer film's remake; ONE MILLION YEARS BC, starring the gorgeous Raquel Welch as Luanna the Fair one--and John Richardson as the Cave Man. This is a wonderful, 8x10 inch, photo (not a computer print) from a period transparency and and shows Raquel in an odd pose as the prehistoric queen!
