ONOTO De La Rue MAGNA 1873 Black Chased Fountain Pen For auction from my collection is a used in superb condition Onoto MAGNA fountain pen. This is the 1873 model denoted by the three gold cap bands and the No 7 nib, the barrel is the black Opaque (not transparent) chased model which dates this particular pen to early 1946. For full history of the Onoto Magna fountain pens & pencils please see the folowing link /page25.html courtesy of '' The pen is in overall superb fully working condition with no dents, dings, or bite marks. The chase pattern to the cap and barrel is consistent and clear with minor surface / pocket wear as you would expect with such a vintage writing instrument. The imprint on the barrel is crisp and clear and reads "ONOTO MAGNA DE LA RUE & Co LTD LONDON" There is one blemish to the barrel comprising two scratch marks each approximately 1mm in length, they are located just to the right of the Onoto imprint I have tried to capture them in photo number 5 , they are just visible to the naked eye. The pluger filling system is fully working and I have tested it by drawing and expelling water with no leaks. The end of the plunger is marked 1837. The plunger has a very faint hint of discoloration only noticable under a very bright light. The nib is the beautiful platinised 'two tone' large No 7 nib in excellent condition read more
