Carefree Like Desertmountainbears, Carefree is named after a town in Arizona, which is w I live. She is a baby, and that is how her life should be, carefree. I thought it was the perfect name for her. Carefree is a baby brown-phase black bear cub. I have given her baby details. She is about 11" tall standing, but she prefers to sit. She has rounded baby cheeks, a pinkish nose, and a fat baby belly. Her body is understuffed so she can tilt her neck into cute positions. Made of Schulte mohair, I overdyed to a warm brown shade. Black glass eyes. Five-way jointed, using lock nuts and bolts in arms and legs, and a cotter pin in neck. Filled with polyester, wool, silicone pellets, and copper bbs for weight. Her neck area has been left slightly understuffed, so she can tilt her head easily. Wired arms and legs for gentle posing. Detailed leather paw pads. Claws are epoxy and are very hard. Needle felted muzzle, eyelids, and nose. After felting the muzzle to give it the desired shape, I then rooted mohair strand-by-strand to the muzzle. It is in t firmly and cannot be easily removed. It was then trimmed. This is a process that takes many hours. The result is a very natural looking muzzle with short fur, like that of a bear.
