ca 1885-1900, probably English. An outstanding rubina verde opalescent lampshade set in a scrolled wrought brass and metal frame with pull-down pulley mechanism and lighted by a single candle. The shade is of slightly tapered cylindrical form and varies from rich cranberry at the fluted top to greenish-yellow at the base, and is enhanced by a rococo opalescent pattern that is repeated around the perimeter of the shade. Shade is 9.25" high x 9.5" diameter across the top x 5" diameter at the base. Frame is 14" wide; overall height about 39".Condition: Unrestored condition. Normal patina from age and some wear to finish.
