OPERA PROGRAMME – ROYAL OPERA COVENT GARDEN - AIDA Date – 6 June 1953 Principal Singers – Maria Meneghini Callas, Giulietta Simionato, Kurt Baum, Joan Sutherland, Marian Nowakowski, Michael Langdon, Jess Walters. Conductor – Sir John Barbirolli Contents – The programme (in cast sheet form) is of four sides giving full performing details and a synopsis of the opera. Contained in a special souvenir book (58pp) for the special Covent Garden 1953 Coronation Season outlining all opera and ballet productions with lots of photos of the main performers, conductors, etc. Condition – Booklet covers rubbed /dust marked around edges, contents very good. Cast sheet programme outer sides show some signs of handling, with light crease, contents very good. If more than one programme is purchased postal charges will be adapted accordingly; if buying more than one item please wait for an invoice with adjusted total. Every care is given to packing of items. Strong card envelopes used with stiffeners were required.
