"Please take time to read through the item description, thank-you." Here for auction is a very opulent French cocktail cabinet in the Louis XV style. Mid to late 20th century. This very high quality cabinet has a serpentine shaped top with an exquisite Vernis Martin front panel, with a beautifully painted scene depicting a romantic couple in French period dress. The cabinet is adorned with ormolu mounts having delicate Rococo style handles and escutcheons to the single drawer and opulent gilt sabots. The fall-front of this delightful cabinet opens to reveal a wonderful mirrored interior, with central electric light and a single glass shelf. The condition is very good, some but very minor signs of use, marks to the top, barely visible, a couple of tiny chips to the front painted scene, shown in the picture but again barely noticeable. The mirror shows some signs of use, with some minor spots/foxing. Very solid sturdy and strong. This superb cabinet will make a wonderful talking point when entertaining and mixing cocktails!
